My Benefit Counter Experience!

First of all i'd like to apologise for the photo 1) Because its a product photo and this isn't a product review (ill be doing one later) and 2) I'm not sure the quality is too good as it was when i took it but then looked pants on my laptop. Anyway onto my experience at The Benefit counter which i visited at the White Rose center which is in Leeds. The counter is in a Debanhams store with the likes of Mac and Urban Decay. However i always find myself drawn to the Benefit counter, lighting up with bright colours and unique packaging on every product. My mum doesn't normally come with me as she's never really been into make up but has recently started enjoying wearing it and expressing herself through makeup. This makes me so happy as i can see her get excited about the same things i do and we can ooh and ahh about the various colours of the Mac counter or the beautiful Urban Decay eye shadow palettes. I also now get to teach her how to apply make up and get the best out of the products she buys, its awesome really.

So when we got to the counter my mum immediately starts talking to one of the staff, my mum could make friends anywhere. After i see them taking i walk over and Clair (my mum) points at me and tells the lady that were looking for me really. This is until i show my mum the There Real Eye Liner and she instantly loves it and asks the lady how it works. The staff member named Judy is happy to help and asks my mum to sit on a stool so she can give her a tutorial, this in its self is was really kind of her. Judy then went onto testing all sorts of products on both me and my mum until it really was just a free makeover! We walked out looking 10 times better than we did before, We had such a laugh that we were invited back next month for the same thing. Poor Judy was even lovely when challenged with the stress of dealing with my grandparents who haven't a clue on make up. In the end we walked out of there with two products, my mum got the eyeliner and i got the Hoola bronzer which I'm in love with.

Overall we had an amazing time and the rest of the day was just as brilliant but as for the Benefit counter i 100% you visit the one in White Rose if you live near and ask for Judy because she truly was a lovely person. Saying that all the staff seemed lovely and eager to help out. Special thanks to Judy though!

Review; Real Techniques Eye set and Miracle complexion sponge

I realise i write a LOT of reviews but i do really enjoy them, however guys i do have some different posts lined up for you which will be different and interesting. Anyway on to the review!

Ill start with sponge, I AM IN LOVE! This sponge is an absolute god send, its blends perfectly with foundation whether its liquid, powder or cream. I find when you make the sponge damp it helps with my dry patches, using it damp also stops it from soaking up lots of product. The sponge is strategically shaped, the flat top to blend around the nose and eyes, the sides for blending in large areas and the pointy end is to apply product on to one specific are like a spot or blemish. I apply my liquid foundation  and then my powder to set with the sponge. I use this instead of my Core Collection brushes (i reviewed them here) i still use my contour brush regularly for contour obviously, you can however use the sponge for contouring and blush but i just prefer a brush.  So overall this is one of my best buys ever in the history of best buys (weird i know).

Now onto the brushes, the Fine liner brush I've used once when I tried to apply a thin line with some gel eyeshadow and it's probably the eyeshadow but it didn't go very well. However it's a good density and shape, so I think if I used it with actual eyeliner I'd get a better result. The Accent brush is amazing for you inner corners and under you lower water line. It's got a sharp straight edge but is still soft and easy to use. The Base shadow brush is great for applying eye shadow to the outer corner of you eye and in the crease. I don't think your supposed to use it for that but that is what works best for me. Then there's the Deluxe crease brush which is dense with a dome shape, I blend my eye shadow I with this and use it to cover the lid with a base shade. I think it also would work brilliantly for buffing concealer. The last brush is the Brow brush which I haven't often, this is for filling your brows, it has an angled shape but is still soft. So overall there's is some lovely brushes in this set but I think for the money it's pretty ridiculous as this little set cost just as much as the core collection which had massive brushes in it.

Positive Thinking

This is going to be a more serious and deep post guys, I know. So buckle up and get comfy because were gonna get personal-ish. I feel like there's so many people out there who go through their days miserable or just sad. The kinda sad where you don't have a particular reason for being upset but you are, I get this feeling a lot. It's okay to feel like this but you can get rid of it easy!
Option 1) you can go meet your friends see if you can go on an adventure into the woods or just sit and watch a movie together. If their the reason your feeling a bit down then maybe just chill with you family, your family are the best support system as they always have your best interests at heart.

Option 2) if being alone is your thing, get out of your room and walk or run even skip if it helps. I find being alone helps sometimes, you can even be tumblr as hell and walk through the woods (only of safe) and listen to some music and just be alone with your thoughts.

Option 3) this isn't as much as an option it's more of a solution. TALK! Just talk to someone and get there thoughts on the matter, just make sure your open to there opinions. My brother always helps me get my mind back to where it should be as he gives it to me straight no tip toeing around because he's scared my feelings will get hurt. Someone like that is better to confide in because they aren't bias on the situation so they can give you a clear solution to your problem. Even if your just fed up, talking to someone will lift the weight off your shoulders and make you feel at least slightly better.

That's the upset feelings out of the way now comes the positivity, thinking positive will make your life easier and well, happier. This can be from being more confident to just thinking positive about situations. This can be hard to practise but with a lot of effort and motivation you can achieve it. Stop thinking about what other people think of you, I know you hear this repeatedly but just be yourself and if someone doesn't like that then there the wrong person for you to be friends with.

I'm not going drag this on anymore but as Bobby Mcferrin famously sang
"Don't worry, be happy."

Author Review; Rainbow Rowell

I know this is my second Author Review in a day! ( John Green review ) But i loved writing the first one soooo much, so therefore i will not deny myself the pleasure to write another! I bought these books knowing nothing about them or who the author was, they were total impulse buys. However these are some of my favorite books, so much so i cannot decide which one i like better! Rainbow's characters are sometimes relatable, an example being Cath in Fangirl, shes a classic girl who obsesses over things, is strong and independent and knows what she wants. I see myself in Cath. In Eleanor & Park however you have two totally different characters who meet and build a beautiful relationship, this leads me onto another think i love about Rainbows writing. The romantic scenes, there wrote so wonderfully and descriptive, it makes you feel like you there supporting Eleanor with her first boyfriend or telling Cath to forgive Levi. I grew very fond of the characters throughout these books and if you choose to read them you'll understand why. I know i did the quotes just for the John Green review however I'm going to loosen the reins a little and share a quote from each book that i love, your welcome guys.

1)“Nothing was dirty. With Park.
Nothing could be shameful.
Because Park was the sun, and that was the only way Eleanor could think to explain it.” -
Eleanor & Park

2)“I miss you."
"That's stupid," she said. "I saw you this morning."
"It's not the time," Levi said, and she could hear that he was smiling." It's the distance.”
- Fangirl

So as you can tell by the quotes these books will get you emotional and wanting love like theirs, ahh if only it wasn't fictional. I highly recommend both books and also Rainbow Rowell has another popular book named Landline that I'm yet to buy, so check that out too!

Rainbow Rowell; 5/5

Author Review; John Green

Lets face it, i don't think there's a book lover in the world that hasn't heard of John Green, maybe if ancient history is your thing. I've only chosen to talk about the books Mr Green has wrote himself even thought i love Let It Snow and Will Grayson, Will Grayson as well, i just thought there was enough to talk about without adding extras in too!

So i'd like to begin by talking about John Green as an author as that's the whole point really. I think John is known mostly for the poetic quotes in his many books from the tear jerking words of Augustus Waters to the inspiring descriptions from Margo Roth Spiegelman. Johns books show the spectrum of bright and colourful characters that are put in trying times and are forced to make life changing decisions. In the spirit of John Green's poeticness i complied a list of five favorite quotes some from myself others from friends, here we go.

1) "A Harmatia?" he asked, the cigarette still in his mouth, It tightened his jaw. He had a hell of a jawline, unfortunately.
"A fatal flaw" i explained turning away from him..." - The Fault In Our Stars

2)" I'm not saying that everything is survivable. Just that everything but the last thing is." -
Paper Towns

3) “It's not because I want to make out with her."
"Hold on." He grabbed a pencil and scrawled excitedly at the paper as if he'd just made a mathematical breakthrough and then looked back up at me. "I just did some calculations, and I've been able to determine that you're full of shit” - Looking for Alaska

4) "“Well, while you were in the bathroom, I sat down at this picnic table here in Bumblefug, Kentucky, and noticed that someone had carved that GOD HATES FAG, which, aside from being a grammatical nightmare, is absolutely ridiculous. So I'm changing it to 'God Hates Baguettes.' It's tough to disagree with that. Everybody hates baguettes.” - Abundance of Katherines

5)“I didn’t need you, you idiot. I picked you. And then you picked me back.” - Paper Towns

6) "Poetry is just so emo." he said. "Oh, the pain. The pain. It always rains. In my soul.” -
Paper Towns

Okay so maybe six but the last one made me laugh so i had to put it on the list. By the way the quotes aren't ordered in how much i like them there just random, because i love them all. The quotes might help you decide which book want to buy and read but if i'm honest John Greens books speak for themselves. Every single one of them is a literary masterpiece which is why John has become an international best seller, has had some of his books made into films and is loved by many. In conclusion i highly recommend you buy each one of his books as there a amazing in their own different and unique ways.

John Green; 6/5

Review; Real Techniques Core Collection and Expert Face Brush

I bought these lovelies a few months ago but before i reviewed them i wanted to have had more experience using them and getting a feel for the brushes. So ill get straight to it!

I'll start with the Real Techniques Core Collection this includes the buffing brush, contour brush, foundation brush and the detail brush (i think its called that the writings rubbed off mine). The buffing brush is brilliant you can use it for liquid, cream and powder foundations, i use mine to add powder after already applying my foundation with a different brush. Saying this i have recently found myself using the buffing brush to blend my foundation in as i think it gives a better result. The contour brush is a perfect size for getting under your cheekbones, I've seen on videos other people using it with powder to set their under eye concealer, it works brilliantly for that too. The foundation brush doesn't do a great job of actually applying foundation to the whole face as its way too small and leaves streak marks on the face. i do however use it to apply foundation to my eyes as its shape is just right to get around your eyelids and under eyes with ease. Lastly The detail brush which I haven't used this that much as don't wear lipstick a lot and when I do I'm too lazy to line my lips with a small brush first. However I was applying some berry lipstick the other day and found if I line my lips using the brush it gives them more definition and makes them look bigger. Therefore it's a must have if your into statement lips, you could also use it on your eyes or even to apply concealer to spots/blemishes. So that's pretty much it for the core collection.

Onto The expert face brush, firstly I'd like to say that i have a love/hate relationship (mostly hate) with this brush. I love that it can cover large areas. That's it, that's all i love about this product. Okay so I'm going to tell you the problems.
1) It leaves streak marks on my face due to its oval shape and density
2) Its a giant pain to clean as all the foundation goes deep into the brush as its so dense.
3) Even if you use it once it soaks up the foundation, I think this may be the reason i have a problem with the coverage of my foundation.
I don't want you all to thing this brush is the devil as its not but for my face its not good, so if you feel like trying it for yourself that's cool, it might just be my skin and foundation that doesn't agree with the brush and its properties.

So in conclusion go out and buy the core collection immediately, but hold off on the expert face brush as in my opinion its not worth the money.

Core Collection; 4/5
The Expert Face Brush; 1/5
