Growing Up

Recently I have realised that I am actually going to have to grow up and that kinda sucks but at the same time is a great thing. The epiphany came on when I just found myself making a CV for a job application and applying for college, I mean that's scary stuff.

The New L'oreal Pure Clay Detox Mask

As I've said In my previous post I'm getting back into skincare routine and I wanted to add to my Mask collection, when me and my bestfriend stumbled onto this we were chuffed it was on offer. L'oreal have brought out 3 Pure Clay masks in three different colours and each one gives you a different result. You can just use one or you can buy them all and use them in different areas or I guess in an order.

Violet Voss Holy Grail Palette!

Okay so I did a little 'treat yo self' when my friend drew my attention to the website Beauty Bay which had restocked a palette we had previously died over. It was the Violet Voss pro palette 'Holy Grail' and we both bloody went mental as it is a limited edition palette which sells out like a mother fudger.

My Constant Struggle With Motivation

Hello everybody I'm Emily Smith! And I am back! Yes I have come out of my blogging slump after falling out of love with it, once again my motivation for blogging has gone to zero. Part of this was due to me thinking about YouTube but nonetheless here I am trying to scrounge for the much needed motivation. WHICH BRINGS ME ONTO THE TOPIC OF TODAY'S POST FUNNILY ENOUGH.

PEACE

What is peace? How can I find peace? Is everybody's peace different?
These are some of the questions that me, Britain's best philosopher, will kindly answer for you today. I would first like to state that I'm not a very peaceful person, as I'm writing this am in quite the bad mood HOWEVER I thought by maybe writing this I would bring me some peace. Just a little.

Review: Naked 2 palette

Okay so Santa came this December and he brought some hella good gifts, for example this babe right here the Urban Decay Naked 2 palette and what a babe it is. Before I start the affectionate speech I would like to point out how amazing these photos are and that my friends is all down to a awesome camera I received from an awesome person. Beware the quality will legit blow your socks off. LETS GET GOING THEN.

I know on my Christmas wish list I said I wanted the Naked 3 however I realised that the palette was mostly rose tones which wouldn't suit me as I prefer more nude metallic dark shades as they compliment my eye lids better. So after further investigation I asked Santa for the the Naked 2 and not the 3 and may I say BEST DECISION GOD DAMN EVER.

That pictures quality thoughhh. Sorry I'll stop drooling soon. So yeah as you can see in the picture there is mostly dark shades like your browns, greys and metallic mauves all the way up to a matte black. Can I just say that the black shade is the most pigmented eye shadow EVER, all of them are really pigmented and you can really tell where your getting your quality from when using these shadows. My favourite shade is Half Baked which is a strong gold colour which I would love to smother my face in cos it's so darn beautiful, but I don't due to social reasons. I do however use it on my lid and as a inner corner highlight.

I think you could make SO many looks with this one palette as there is lots of combos that go well together and it's one of those palettes that will suit everyone. HOWEVER it is very pricey and that is the reason I got it from Santa because it would be impossible for my sub conscious to allow me to spend that kinda dollar on a normal day.  As I said though, you are getting the quality you pay for with this and I think that applies to the whole urban decay cosmetics range as I am yet to buy a product from them that I'm disappointed with.

To be honest I'm not really sure what else I have to say, I do want to tell you that I didn't do a swatch because these eye shadows are too expensive to put on my arm to then immediately wipe off *shudders at thought of wasting £38 eyeshadow*

Okay guys that's is from me as I have mocks all week and am highly suprised I've found the motivation to write this, so I'm going to love you and leave you. Thanks for reading!

Most Disliked Books

Hey guys I hope you all had a brilliant Christmas and New years! I'm finally gonna start blogging more regular and have decided to start a YouTube, I just need to sort out editing software and then you can finally watch my pretty face talk mountains of shite. #ParadiseRight?

Okay so I LOVE books but these are some of the ones I thought kinda sucked, these are my opinions and I still think you should all read these books because I am only one person with a certain taste of books so there's a large chance you'll love them.

First of all is The Spectacular Now, there is also a film for this as with all the books except for the Wreck it journal. Endings are a big deal for me, so if a book has a crappy ending it can sometimes ruin the whole thing for me. This book also didn't have anything major going on throughout which was disappointed because I did really enjoy the film and normally the books are always better. Its a really cute story about a guy on the rebound who falls in love with a unexpectedly wonderful girl and things get like really bad and the ending is really anti climax which made me madddd. As I say however, read it for yourself and tell me what you think!

Next up is Wreck This Journal now I know this is a loved one of many, but I actually hate it. I'm a book lover therefore i cant stand even a folded page, so when a book is telling me to drag it to the doors of hell (slight exaggeration) I can't stand it. Also most of the things seem unrealistic, like how am I supposed to keep a book with rotting marshmallows in it. HoW? So if you like ruining things for all eternity this is the one for you.

I don't want to sound hypercritical when I say I didn't enjoy Paper Towns, as I have wrote a author review on John Green because I do love his books. I did love paper towns until once again the ending disappointed me, spoiler alert guys. So the whole book is about finding the girl and it's an amazing descriptive adventure of teens, everything's fine and dandy until the last chapter. When they finally find the bitch that's been messing with their lives, she admits that she didn't want to be found... I mEan ComE ON. I actually wanted to punch her, there wasn't even a kiss, the whole book was pointless kinda like monopoly. HOWEVER if you love John Green like I do, then go buy this book because it is beautiful until the end of course. Also I haven't seen the film so I don't have an opinion on that.

The last book is Perks of being a wallflower. Okay I'm gonna start of saying this book wasn't even that bad but the format it was written in was a bit of a pain in the ass. It's wrote in letter form and I both love and hate it for that reason. I know, it's weird. The actual story is beautiful and tragic at the same time which is why I do actually love the book. The film is just as amazing too, so the reason it's on the list is that I was kinda distracted by the layout but as I've said with them all give it a chance and you may love it.

So that was my list, with all these books I didn't hate any of them just disliked. I know I'm not being very regular with my posts but I have mock exams and I'm not wanting to force myself to blog as that's when you stop enjoying things. Thanks for reading!
